I originally posted a photo of a KTM 250 SX-F FMF Megabomb headpipe mated to a KTM 350 SX-F 4.1 FMF muffler and my DM’s flooded with questions. Why does it do? Why stick the 250 headpipe on the 350? Normally when you purchase an aftermarket muffler system you usually get a smoother roll on/bottom end power and more mid to top end. However, the FMF 250 headpipe mated to the KTM 350 FMF 4.1 muffler gets you more low end and recovery as well as only slightly less top end power compared to the 350 complete FMF system. If you’re on a KTM 350 SX-F you don’t want to lose any low end, especially if you’re racing 450s, so using the shorter 250 muffler will ensure the most low end and low to mid RPM response available. Compared to the stock system the complete FMF 4.1 system with the 250 Megabomb headpipe you will get an increased low end delivery along with more mid range recovery (just in case you’re in the wrong gear coming out of corners).
I thought most of you knew about this trick but from the looks of my DM’s on Keefer Inc. Testing’s Instagram, you didn’t know about this mod. That’s my fault! I should have informed you! NOW YOU KNOW! Purchase the KTM 250 SX-F FMF Megabomb HP separate and then purchase the KTM 350 SX-F 4.1 muffler and live happy with your “Church Of 350”.
Note: On your FMF 4.1 muffler, I leave the insert in but cut out the screen out then reinstall. Running the insert out of your 4.1 muffler will give you more low end RPM response but you will lose a little mid range pulling power. Pick your poison! I prefer insert in with screen out!
