The 2024 KX250 is suffering in these 250 MX Shootouts because of the front fork. If the KYB fork had more comfort and wasn’t so stiff, I think it would be winning or at least second. The engine package is really good with a nice amount of bottom end excitement and great mid range pulling power. The stock muffler note is atrocious but overall power is one of the best in class. Below is a map for you KX250 owners that may want a little more pulling power out of corners in order to get you in third gear sooner. No, it won’t allow you to run third gear through corners, but it can help recovery if you mess up your shift while making your corner. You will need a KX calibration tool to install this map into your KX and you can install this map into any color coupler you wish.
The suspension setting below is for 140-170 pound rider as this should give you as much comfort as possible without a spring or valving change. We do recommend getting a re-valve as this really opens up the KX’s chassis feel. There is not another bike in the 250 class with as much comfort as the KX once you get your suspension dialed in with a spring or valving change. If you’re over 180 pounds then going to a 5.0N/mm fork spring as well as a 56N/mm rear spring and softening up the compression a couple clicks on each end should increase the comfort for you heavier dudes. These settings are updated slightly from 2023 but if you do have a 2023, you can try this set up to see if it helps with comfort.
